After completing a Fine Art degree specialising in large scale monochrome and sculptural photography, I have over recent years returned to painting often creating textural sculptural works using a combination of oil, acrylics, wax, inks and even organic material.
My landscape paintings are worked on site and in the studio using sketches and photographs when cycling around the surrounding countryside.
Woodland trees and English Orchards and the wildlife they support are my speciality and I am passionate about preserving these fast disappearing areas.
I have been influenced by many artists both traditional and contemporary including Bruegel, Fukase, Eardley, Kiefer & Caspar Friedrich and I am fascinated by the rich palette of the Book of Hours.
After teaching in Faversham, I moved to North Devon for 5 years teaching Art for mixed age groups and running workshops both in schools and Arts centres.
I now live back in Ash Kent and intend to resume running classes & workshops locally.
My classes will be aimed at all age groups and abilities covering drawing, painting & the decorative arts in all mediums.
