Sue Bradley. Artist. Kent:
I have been painting ever since I can remember, beginning with oils and 'poster paints'. I have painted in most media,
including acrylics and on-glaze bone china and porcelain. My favourite medium these days is watercolour, particularly
transparent colour as I love its freshness and vibrancy.
I enjoy 'traditional' landscape scenes but I'm also very interested
in creating pattern and textural effects and semi-abstract themes. My work varies between very detailed and much looser styles
and I am always experimenting with new ideas and techniques.
My favourite subjects are landscape, flowers, dancers and animals. I have recently had paintings selected for major exhibitions including
the Artist and Leisure Painter magazine annual open exhibition at Patchings Art Centre, Nottingham and the Royal Society of Marine Artists
exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London.
I have been honoured to have work chosen several times for publication in the Paint magazine and
as 'Image of the Month' on the Painters Online website. I have just been juried (2014) through the first round of the World Watercolour
Competition which is sponsored by the prestigious French magazine 'The Art of Watercolour'.
I am a fully qualified school teacher, have taught in primary schools for many years and currently teach watercolours
to adults at the Artstyle Gallery, Orpington together with workshops for art societies and painting holidays.
My work is represented by a gallery in Beckenham, Kent as well as being available online.
I am a professional associate with the SAA.
