After completing a four year programme of study at Medway College of Art,
Janet Darley became an Art Tutor at a convent school in Maidstone, Kent and has continued to work as an artist and tutor for many years, currently with Kent Adult Education and privately.
Janet Darley was the Runner Up in Kent Life Landscape Painter of the Year and has been pre selected for The John Moores Prize on several occasions.
Janet Darley has exhibited in The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018 also demonstrating at the exhibition in the Mall Galleries and has exhibited in The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours on several occasions.
Janet has exhibited in The Royal Watercolour Society’s Contemporary Exhibition several times including 2016 and 2017
Janet has exhibited in The Threadneedle Prize, The Society of Women Artists and the United Society of Artists and also in many exhibitions in Kent.
Janet was a selected artist with Pure Arts Group in 2014
Janet paints mostly images of her local area in Kent and her expertise is with gouache and watercolour.
